Scapular Push- Ups
The shoulder blade push-up is intended to strengthen the muscles that stabilize the shoulder blade. Unlike a regular push-up, you do not bend your elbows at all. It is a bit of a weird movement, which takes some getting used to, so feel free to practice in front of a mirror or with someone watching to see if your form looks like mine. Aim to do 15 to 20 repetitions, and repeat twice.
This is a shoulder blade push-up, it is intended to retrain the shoulder blade position to help with posture and the way your shoulder blade sits against your back. Unlike a regular push-up
your elbows stay completely straight, as well bring you bum up higher. Then your shoulder blades will come together behind you, as shown in the video. You can also do it from your knees if that’s too much pressure. I would aim for 15 to 20 repetitions of this. You can even go higher if it’s easier for you in order to start to feel a burn in between your shoulder blades.
