Chiropractic care is often combined with massage from a massage therapist for patient treatment plans, since they are complementary to one another. Chiropractic care focuses primarily on joint and nerve function, along with biomechanics of the spine and joints, while massage focuses on soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia.
While both therapies aim to promote overall health and wellness, they differ in their approach and techniques. Chiropractors use a hands-on approach to adjust the spine, joints, and soft tissues to restore proper joint mobility, nerve function, biomechanics, and posture. Chiropractic treatment aims to optimize spine and nerve system health. Massage, on the other hand, is a therapeutic technique that is commonly used to reduce muscle tension, alleviate pain, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. Massage therapists use different techniques, such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and trigger point therapy, depending on the client’s needs.
Both chiropractic and massage can be effective in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries, which is why you will often see collaborative care between chiropractic and massage for clients.
At Riverside Chiropractic, we do have three massage therapists who work in-house as independent contractors. They control their own administration and scheduling. Their schedules are accessible through the website by selecting “book now” and selecting an individual massage therapist. Their contact information (phone and/or email) is available on their individual booking page. Please note, there are currently limited spots for new clients, but if you wish to view their availability or be put on a cancellation list, please utilize their individual booking pages. Thank you for your understanding!
